Connecting your Game to your Computer Using A Cable
You can share your internet connection with a Game Console easily, and this page will give you full instructions on how to do it!
Note: This is written for Windows XP only. Other versions of Windows are more difficult, and you can play with them yourself. OnALot.com only supports XP based systems.
Note: your computer and your game console both must have an Ethernet port, sometimes called a NIC or Network Port. An Ethernet port looks like a Modem port, but has 8 wires in it, and is a bit wider. It's usually found near the USB ports on the rear of your desktop computer, and on the side or back of your Game.
Important - You need a Crossover Cable
In addition, you will need a CAT5 Crossover Cable. This is a special type of CAT5 cable, and is required for your computer to talk to your game console. You can buy a crossover cable at Radio Shack, Best Buy or other superstore, or, OnALot.com makes up a 6' Crossover Cable for $5, and longer ones for $1 per foot. Call us if you need one.
Setup Instructions
- Power up your computer and game console. Connect the two of them together by connecting the Crossover Cable to each ethernet port.

- Each game console is differenct, and we can't give you specific step-by-step instructions as a result. You will have to navigate your game's menus to find the items listed below
- You need to enter an IP address for your game console. Choose a static IP address and enter the following:
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Preferred DNS server: 68.94.156.1
Alternate DNS server: 68.94.157.1

- Try out the game, it should find the internet and start working.
Note: If you turn off your Computer, the Game will not be able to get the Internet. Your computer routes the internet through it and then into the game, so if the computer is turned off, the game won't be on the internet.
