Why Does OnALot.com Charge For Equipment?
There are several reasons why we charge the amounts shown on our installation page
- You see us install equipment on your home, but you don't see "the other end", which is equipment mounted up on towers. Our tower-mounted equipment is industrial grade, very expensive and requires periodic and expensive maintenance. Part of your installation fee goes towards helping us keep our equipment up and running at full speed.
- We maintain an inventory of spare parts so that we can quickly get you or our system back up and running after a failure.
- The equipment we sell you is top quality. We have sifted through the offerings of many manufacturers and only offer the best of what's out there. This way there's fewer problems for you, and fewer service calls for us.
- We also want this to work for you. If we gave you junkie equipment for free, you'd be dis-satisfied and quit, and we'd go out of business. By selling you the best equipment, you tell your friends about our service, and we grow our business!
- As we upgrade our systems, we absorb the cost of doing so. Newer, faster and more reliable equipment is expensive, and that cost is only partly offset by installation fees.
- New data lines are installed as our customer base increases. More lines = faster speeds, but this comes at a cost to us.
- This is our job. We've put in a load of time and effort to bring high speed service to areas that couldn't get it before. Like you at your job, we deserve to be paid for our efforts.
We have brought our installation fees down as low as possible to make it easy for you to get service. We actually don't make very much on an installation, but we do make a profit on the month-to-month subscription fees, so we want you online! These policies have allowed us to grow our business, put in some pretty terrific upgrades and bring service to a lot of areas!
